                                                                                          Medical Assistant Instructor - Job Description

Job Summary:

​

We are seeking a dynamic, highly energetic leader who inspires both students and faculty to reach their educational and career goals set forth by Innovation Dental Training Center. This position also requires ensuring program accountability for specific academic metrics pertaining to student retention. Strong leadership skills are required to provide educational planning, preparation and training. The successful individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong instructor bench, mentoring instructors, advising students, and supporting program enrollment and retention. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Advance student learning through exemplary instruction by following an established course outline.

Develop and implement student learning outcomes.

Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter area and effective teaching/ learning strategies.

Maintain appropriate standards of professionalism and conduct.

Inform students of course requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.

Grade class assignments and examinations. Keep students informed of their academic progress.

Maintain attendance, scholastic, and personnel records and submitting them according to program guidelines.

 

Education/Experience/Qualifications, Certifications, and/or License Requirements:

​

Must be energetic and able to deliver instruction passionately.

An ability to mentor students and hold them accountable to program standards.

At least 3-5 years of experience as Medical Assistant or in a directly related field.

Must be one of the following - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

Current CPR certification.

3 to 5 years teaching and/or supervisory experience desirable.

Front Office - Insurance, CHDP, WIC HICFA 1500 and Lab Requisition Forms

Back Office procedures - EKG, Urine, Vitals, BP's, Temps, Injections, Adult-Pediatric, minor wound trays, bandaging and more

Familiar with A&P, Medical Terminology, Basic Pharmacology, and Med Math

Comfortable with computers (Word, Excel)

Highly organized and detail oriented.
