CURRICULUM

The curriculum in IDTC Career Center’s medical assistant program focuses on the clinical and administrative aspects of working in a medical office setting, immersing you in the practical aspects of providing medical patient care in a hands-on environment. Upon completion of this program, graduates can take the National Registered Certified Medical Assistant Certification Exam to qualify for employment in this field.

CLASSROOM-TO-CAREER SKILLS TRAINING

To prepare for a vital role in the health care field, IDTC provides comprehensive, knowledge-based training in the following areas:

  • Anatomy and Physiology

Employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 19 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. The growth of the aging baby-boom population will continue to increase demand for preventive medical services, which are often provided by physicians. As a result, physicians will hire more assistants to perform routine administrative and clinical duties, allowing the physicians to see more patients.

WHERE DO REGISTERED MEDICAL ASSISTANTS WORK?

Following successful completion of the Medical Assistant program and the Certification Examination for National Registered Certified Medical Assistants (NRCMA), graduates can seek employment in a variety of job settings, including:

  • Outpatient Clinics.
