Curriculum

CURRICULUM

The curriculum in IDTC Career Center’s medical billing and coding program focuses on the fundamentals of medical billing and coding and are prepared to take the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) exam from the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Program topics include medical terminology; insurance plans; medical ethics; HIPAA; diagnostic and procedural coding; coding compliance and auditing; physician and hospital billing; Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE. Students receive training on ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS code assignment.

CLASSROOM-TO-CAREER SKILLS TRAINING

To prepare for a vital role in the health care field, IDTC provides comprehensive, knowledge-based training in the following areas:

  • Reimbursement, HIPAA, and Compliance
